pulled over couldnt see anything wrong so turned around to go home. then another noise somthing shiny went flying out the back so pulled over and couldnt find whateva it was, looked under car oil leak so drove home... car was fine steering, engine gear box felt ok

jacked it up and....





anyone got parts for it in SE please u2u me... anyway jumping in the tigra off to uni again YEAH

You smashed it open? the bottom of mine hits the floor, luckily the manifold takes the shit though

lol had this twice both on me vectra.youst to give it death all the time and the times i did drive it slow i got probs.lol.easy fix well couple of hours but all good.

Suprisingly yes

It's ok, It has a stainless steel skimmimg plate welded onto the manifold! Just needs renewing occasionally

Change the bottom plate, re-fill with oil, should be ok?

im quite confused to be honest, looks to me like something has just put a crack in the bottom of the gearbox housing or something

Nastly , assuming its an F20 gearbox then part numbers for Vaux are:

Differential cover - 90522387
Differential cover gasket - 90344511

As far as I know you can get the differential cover off an F16, F18 or F20 gearbox though so scrapyard might be a good idea

Did you wack it on the ground to do that? I once broke that part but it was from the inside, One of the teeth from a planet gear on the diff had sheared off and went between the main diff cog and the casing. If you didnt hit anything you may need to find out what caused it
