Without baiting or trying to stir anything up i think most folk would agree Gerrards not the same player for his country as he is for his club. The armband may change that though? and probably a half decent manager to get the best out of him tbh.

Just about anyone else would be fine.

Don't want Beckham to get it back though, as it will start the whole media attention again. I'm sure hes happy as he is too.

Hopefully yes, the captain should be a dfender who can lead from the back and is ina position to see more of the game, I reckon Terry will be the kind of player Capello will aim to fire up in the hope to have a knock on effect to the rest of the team. Install a bit of Pride and passion into playing for the Country.

The thing is, I dont think Terry deserves it. OK he is gives his all, but I think the way he acts for Chelsea is shocking and not the sort I want as captain.

But I also dont want Gerrard for selfish reasons. And that leaves no one else really. Rooney gives his all but is too hot headed (not always a bad thing) but also a forward so not the best to be captain. Keeper? Their isnt one. Defenders? Rio is the only other, but just dont see him being capt. Other Mids? Hargreaves, lampard? Again neither.

i agree, i would give it to rio though, he speaks his mind and tbh, he does more controlling, shouting etc at the back than terry does,

all terry does imo is walk out first
