Now then,
Bought a P reg 1.2ls last night and started driving it straight away but i think theres something wrong!!
It was alright when i was first driving it but then the alternator belt started squeeling at me then it suddenly stopped. When it stopped, the headlights went very dim and the dials started playing up. The speedo was dropping to 0mph then going back up to the speed i was doing. The petrol guage dropped to say i had no petrol even though i had over half a tank. Now the speedo is stuck on 0mph all the time.
I've check to see if the alternator belt has snapped but it's still on and spinning fine.
It wouldn't start this morning so i've put the battery on charge in the meantime.
The car had been sat for 2 month before i bought it. Could this be the problem?

i hope the alternators not broke, can't afford another one this close to christmas!!!
put the fully charged battery in and everything seems to be ok so i'm gunna give it a go tonight and see what happens

you can get another one for about £5 from the scrap yard if money is that tight.

right i know where i'm gettin me alternator from!! is it difficult to fit cause me and me mate are gunna have a go at it, save some money??
