I've just sold this....

And for a decent some of money and this...

I said good bye to my red top and here comes the 1.6 tuning.

Would you have done it?

My reason is because im only planning on keeping my car for another 6 months at the most and it was goin to be hassle changing the engines over. Plus tbh... having a 2ltr in a Corsa dosn't really add that much to the value over a 1.6 Sport.

Much difference will it make? I've had a DBilas on a 1.6 before the power came in about 5900rpm... will this be the same?

bet you'll miss that reaction when you tell people you have a 2.0 in the corsa.

''what a 2.0?, no f-ing way dude''

seriously though, i'd prefer a standard 2.0 over a tuned 1.6, but it all depends how far you are willing to tune it.

Lexmaul makes power lower in the revs.

Unsure why u'd remove a 2.0 for a 1.6 though. Even in high state of tune, the 2.0 still always feels faster in same level of tune.

yeh... has some good times in my old one, but then valver is been in my garage now for a year since the car was written off.

I just can be bothered putting it in even tho it would only take a weekend at most.

Not goin to tune it much tbh.. inlet and it need a exhaust manifold and the standard one is gubbed.

i had a tuned to the nackers 1.6 in mine revved to well over 8k but would have preferred a stock 2.0 instead, yeh was good with an engine spec but the 2ltr would have done for me lol

get a 4-1 manifold with that inlet, it wil help with the top end of revs, as the lexmaul is more midrange. Very good inlet.

To be honest... I'd not bother tuning the 1.6, as you've already got the 2.0 16v sitting there, drop it in, job done...

tuning the 1.6 = Lots of money spent to even get close to the 2.0 16v...

then your gonna sell the car anyway in 6 months? well most people won't pay for the tuning you did on the 1.6? so you've just lost yourself several grand, nice one.

Lost myself several Grand?! are you kidding?! dreaming pal!

My Sport dont owe me anything and the red top was forsale anyway.
I'll get around 300 quid for the inlet if i decide to take it off.

Take it your one of these "i have a redtop in my corsa and it makes it worth 3x as much" kinda guys!

if you keep the 1600 in for the 6 months you have left, its all good. If you intended on keeping the car for longer the xe conversion could of been a better option.

but i think there is a bigger market for non-converted cars atm, some younger people are scraping to insure 1.4 and 1.6's alone.

Ahhh i getcha, bummer man...

Errrr if the sport has the 1.6 already in it, then yeah i agree. But i wouldn't go further than the inlet/exhaust manifolds really. Starts to get to big spending then for minimal power gains.

Same. I've always liked the idea of tuning a 1.6 16v over putting a 2.0 in. This is why I like the idea of a 1.8 SRi Corsa C.
