Went to Nottingham earlier, was a crash on the dual carriageway to the A52. So lots of traffic had built up.
When i got to the accident there was a lil old man who had crashed his Pug 1007 into something (had been removed) All the front had been smashed in and the man was just slumped in the drivers seat with his head hanging down (chin on his chest )
Ambulance took off and there was just a police man stood behind the car not doing anything.

Id have thought if the old man was alive he would have been attending to him or there would have been paramedics or something

Hope he didnt die, that would be awful on Christmas Eve.

Tuff stuff that. Makes you realise what sort of things the police have to deal with no matter what day of the year it is.

Not much they could of done if he was dead

But as it's xmas eve, we'll believe that he has narcolepsy and fell asleep, and he is now awake at home playing with his scotty dog and wrapping presents

I remember when I was about 16 a woman was ran over outside where I used to live, it was a newsagents and could see right out onto Aigburth Road (busy road), it too was on Christmas Eve she ran out into the road after her 5 year old son and she was hit by a car, she died at the scene, it was shocking to see it to say the least!

If he was alive, they would've removed him from the car incase of potential fuel leaks / further explosions or anything

Sounds like he was dead. and they were waiting for the crime scene investigators to turn up - as If it's a FATAL accident it needs the scene to be left as it was so they can investigate who was at fault!

Hmm thats not far from me, going through Long Eaton this morning and saw an old guy getting dragged off the middle of the road by some bystanders.

I honestly cant see how anyone can just walk in front of a car without seeing it, hearing it an no idea how to cross a road.

A52 closed at Ockbrook after fatal collision
Police have had to shut the A52 in Derbyshire between Ockbrook and junction 25 of the M1 following a fatal collision this lunchtime.

This one?

To be honest we shouldnt dwell on it, no one knows what is going to happen in the future. 'Get busy living, or get busy dying'

Sounds horrible - thoughts have to be with any families during this Festive period suffering.

On another note, I guess that shows just how not glamorous being a traffic cop is. We all think it'll be amazing chasing speeders and such, but it isn't all rosey
