Recently I bought an Ibiza Cupra. Love the car as its very fast etc. However , I could really do with a van for work ! I do a lot of homers and the Ibiza is totally impractical for carrying tools and materials.

If I were sensible I would sell up and get an astravan - but wheres the fun in that ?

What would you have and why ?

Keep cupra, buy a dirt cheap runabout van with a diesel engine.

Use the van as your week car and beeza as your weekend car. Fuel economy and practicality during the week will balance out the cost of buying it and leave you with something fun to play with at the weekends

Fiesta MK3 Diesel van
Some form of Nova or similar.

I had an E reg Nova saloon and it was awesome to have a car that i didnt give a shite about. Chucking engines in the boot, using it as outdoor furniture etc etc.

Only cost me £50 too

I'd buy a shitter. I need a shitter for work really it's just the insurance is killer with 0 years NCB

I wouldn't get a van if you're young as they like to sting you on that, just get a cheap Nova as already said.

That just screams unreliable at me. If I saw a mk4 turbo van that I knew had been done properly I'd have it in a second.

if thats supposed to be sarcasm i dont see why, astra vans arent expensive, neither are cali leathers and if its an xe he still has something with a bit of poke, although not the same handling and could probaly be done for less than he cost of the ibiza

First decision is whether you want two vehicles. You needn't start with no bonus on your second as there are a few insurers who will match you. Admiral are the obvious choice as they offer specific multicar policies but there are others who will match bonus. I know esure do.

Get a decent van, its your proffesion at the end of the day. You need to apear professional and the return on that out weighs having the costs of another car. If you want something for the weekend save up for something special.

I persoanlly don't think an Ibiza Cupra is special enough to warant getting a run around. I could understand if it was something like a Cossie etc.

I agree. If you turn up in a shitty van people will get a bad impression of you. I'd always have a nicely turned out van for my business, it could be the first thing people 'see' of your business.

Do what a bloke at work does, buy a cheap shitty astra van, buy a large engine then transplant it into the van.

A C20let astra with side exit exhausts is a right good laugh.
