right car wont start now so ive just done the paperclip test and its showing up
cts- high voltage
idle stepper motor-poor or no idle speed control
could this be the cause ??

and also will i need a new cts and idle stepper motor or can they just be cleaned ??
and are they expensive ?

Coolant temp sensor effects fueling levels, govenor efects air intake.
Change both and it'll be fine 
although you can clean the govenor

In my experience, this is a waste of time to do on some engines. For the actual ballache of taking it out, you may aswell change it.

mines a1.2 8v
so wheres the stepper motor on that ?
is govenor just another name for it ?

right just removed connector from the motor and car started ??
running like a lawnmower though
just gonna replace the idle speed motor and cts

Yeh, or idle air control valve, idle filling regulator etc...

well ive fitted a new cts now and ive cleaned the idle valve
car runs perfect
just checked the fault codes but there still showing up , but no eml when i switch the ignition on
do i need too swipe the ecu or summat

leave battery disconnected for an hour
ecu will lose it memory then
