hello there, right i painted my rear arches yesterday (see my project) and i sanded them down, primed them, primed again with grey primer then sanded down with 800 wet and dry, then i sprayed with arden blue paint from halfords, waited a while and sprayed again, then sprayed laquer on them a few hours later and gave 2 coats of it, fitted them today and they look really flat and not that shiney like the body work, any ideas??

try four nice thick coats of laquer (mind the drips!).

Spray the next coat before the last is dry eg. still slightly tacky.

Then let it all dry for about a week or two (sounds a long time but it needs to harden).

Now use some 1200-1500 grade wet and dry paper, used wet, and rub all over the surface, making sure the paper stays wet.

Get out the original t-cut and polish up! (may need to be done quite a few times, but keep working it.

Then apply a polish (AutoGlym Ultra deep shine is ideal because it also containes waxes)

See how you go with that, oh, and sorry about the essay lol!!
