for some reason its started to sound like an impreza its bin decated performance silencer and a stock cav back box any reason why it would just start to sound different??
once you give it a good rev it stops

spark plugs?? ignitin leads?? is it running ruff on tik over? sound like a misfire if soundin like a scoob?

exactly what I said 
Need to get tht inlet sorted and also I would also advice checking spark plugs and ignition leads.

my 2.0 8v motor did exactly the same last week mate, i changed plugs and leads and it was fine for a couple of days then yesterday it done it till it was warm.
I'm going to change the rotor arm and dizzy aswel.

has had new rotor arm and dizzy but will change plugs and leads as i donno when they were last changed, i started my car today and it did it for about 10 seconds then stopped fruitbooter i think you fixed it by rev-ing it alot cheers
