I should know this seeing as I sell Vauxhalls for a living but I dont..
Is the engine in a Signum Turbo the same as the GSi engine??
I'm trading one in next week and considering buying it for myself, but would like it to be the same as a GSi engine wise so I can up the power reasonably easy..

Different engine code, but the engine is basically the same, I think it's Z20LER as opposed to Z20LET.
I'm unaware of any internal differences, I think only the Z20LEH (Astra VXR) was different internally.

Hmmm interesting, as long as its remotely similair it should be ok.. Probably slightly more economy based..
Just fancy something a bit newer thats a bit different from the norm..

Ah, if it's NET rather than LET that means the compression ratio is different, probably higher.

I like them and they're often cheaper than similar Vectras. My brother is after one as it happens.

z20net engine is an all aluminium chain driven low pressure turbo engine. totally differnet in all respects to the let-oil spray bars are different in the sump, different management.
if they used this engine with higher pressure turbo, and a coupla changes it would be a stonkingly good engine.

So it has potential to be half decent then?

Yeh I'd expect it to be pretty smooth and not very exciting.. Just thinking with a bigger turbo, and a few bits and bobs it could be a bit special.. Plus it has every toy imaginable..

yes, big possibilities with this engine, but i would think it'd be costly

Getting it pretty cheap so I'll get it looking how I want first then worry about power later.. Its a 6 speed aswell which will be quite cool..

they use the engine is saabs too
edit - read above, it is chain driven, think there similar to the 2.2 chain driven z22se
