Most people with any sort of credibilit will have their own hockey skates. Mainly just really young kids, middle aged women or dancers that would have figure skates imo.

I can skate pretty well and get upto good speeds, but can't turn right. Something about me being extremely right side dominant.

I do, used to play ice hockey too.

Hockey boots are the more conventional choice. Figure skating ones are only useful if you plan to do dancing, otherwise it's a pain in the arse

Go to http://www.hockeymonkey.com

In the clearance section they have some right bargins, just email ahead about the product you want as some can't be posted outside the US (manufacturer won't allow them to)

I've got lots from there before, really good comnapny to buy from

They don't, they're horrible

The rake bit at the front is a pain, which if you saw dancing on ice earlier you'd know what I mean.

If you plan to be doing triple salko's & jumping around alot then go with the figure skates. Thats what they're made for

If you want to skate around for long periods, be nimble & get improved support in the ankle dept then go with hockey skates

Just get a plain set of hockey boots, that don't look OTT

I went for some flashy looking ones because Im a big kid
