LOL if they were that worried a tuned 1.9 would suffice. It'll be markedly higher than the petrol. The stats speak for themselves though, that is impressive.

atleast its sorted
from Pistonheads
I wouldn't be too worried about the fact that it can't top 200mph...
I'd be more worried that every time you got to 88mph you'd end up in 1955...

Wasn't going to be long before someone made a silly powerfull derv performance car.
740lb ft though
4500rpm redline
Love the styling, looks so much better than the current. Love the interior, looks great (apart from 5000rpm rev countrer, that SO puts me off ).

wen it develops peak power a torque at 1750rpm thats easily as much rev range/powerband of a petrol car making it higher

Ace
How can they style a car with such ludicrous vents yet still make it look awesome!

Aye, but compare that to 12,000rpm on my bike, and its very lame.
Amount of torque/revs, u'll be changing gear quicker than a tarts knickers coming off.

I'm willing to bet it's nowhere near as good a driving experience, just doesn't fit with what the car is designed for imo.
I also love how it looks btw

all depends on the situation.
if im going off the mark yes im through the gears quick, however i can be at 40 in 4th and it will pull briskly all the way to 90 odd

Thats what I was thinking. Its going to be pretty much always in its powerband in any gear ready to go
You can tell me and Steve are the converted diesel drivers on here

are you saying you think your clio excites you more than this would?
yes its not as revvy but you get a helluva punch back in the seat at 1800rpm to some extent even in mine, i like this as much as the sound of a revving engine

I'm pretty sure he's not that silly

lol not at all, my clios only a shoping trolly with a largeish revvy engine. The R8 Dev will be one hell of a car i bet, just a derv sports car at that price wouldnt be my choice
