when refering to multiple of DVD how would you spell it?

DVD's
or DVDs

i'm reading a user guide at work on how we record and store our collected data by the use of a DVD. its a distraction that every time its referred to as pural its DVD's and i think thats wrong 's only refers to an owned object doesn't it?

eg
Pete's blue kite flew in the sky
the car's wheels are made of alloy

maybe i'm being thick?

NB pls do not comment on the grammer in the post, just the grammer of the thread subject!

DVD is changes to DVD's, the ' substitues the i.....

so if you where to say... I like DVD's, it would be wrong, that would be like saying I like DVD is....

examples:

"the data on the DVD's should not be deleted"

"Alongside OLM data DVD's, we also recieved SHM date DVD's"

both cases this is wrong...isn't it?

Both are correct as it's an unusual plural.

No apostrophe if you're referring to DVD in the plural.

They are used to denote missing letters or possession, but NEVER plurals.

ie.

Collection of DVDs

The DVD's label is red.

Or if there is more than one DVD -

The DVDs' labels are torn.
