make sure your gear linkage is in the neutral plane,
jack your car up,
get yourself underneath,
loosen the nut connecting the linkage from the gearbox to the linkage to the gearstick (will be just 1 nut that clamps them toghether),
there will be a plug you'll now need to remove on the gearbox near to where the clutch cable is,
now get a 4.5mm drill bit and put it in the hole where you have just removed the plug,
move the gearbox side of the linkage along the neutral plane whilst pushing the drill bit in the hole unitl you feel it lock in position,
then go inside the car unclip the base of your gearstick gaiter and lift it up,
there will be a hole on the left side of your gearstick and one on the left side of the surround,
stick something (like a punch, or thin screwdriver) through both holes to lock the gearstick in position,
get underneath the car agian and tighten the nut back up to clamp the gear linkage together,
remove the drill bit and whatever you used to lock your gearstick,
put everything back to how it was, remember to re-fit the plug in the gearbox,
un-jack the car and test it!!!
Thats how ive just done mine on my 1.4 8v corsa yesterday, so i hope it helps you.
