Hey all. Beeing cheaky asking a question for a first post.
When refitting the drive chain sprockets on my sisters 1998 1.0 12v (3 cln) ?ecotec?the requested toruqe is 115Nm the angle tighten through 45 deg.
Now with there not being a splined / keyed connection I can understand why a high tauque may be required, as its only the friction between the bolt/sprocked/cam keeping the timing in check. However, 115Nm ( + 45 deg) on that little bolt is a little OTT? keeping the timing disc aligned whilst tightening is also being a pain though I'm machining a jig to hold that in position.
now the question. Has anyone had any problems with under tightening this. I don't want to have to rebuild the head in the next year or so to fix bent valves.
