I've just been reading about the XE conversion and wondered how many people have done there own or have paid a garage/tuning company to do it? And what were your experiences of the route you went down?

agree'd, dont understand why people pay to have them fitted, when it's soo easy..

only really a few bolt's, bit of lifting & matching wiring colour for colour

That’s the thing I don't really have any mechanical knowledge and I could never afford the insurance on one but I really want to do one just to learn about how everything works. I thought about doing one then just maybe taking it to elvington for a few runs until I can afford the insurance.

I'm not sure how many miles my xe had done, and it was running fine so i didnt feel the need to rebuild it, only problem i had in my ownership was a pas hose, and an alternator going. which were normal wear and tear things

Still taking death up in luton now i believe

ians car, think we done it 3-4 times, also removing the c16se, removing 2 c14se and fitting 1, would say the xe was the easiest, the c16se the most fiddly. 2 lads and a engine crane

Isn't a lot more work needed to fit one in a Nova? As the shell is weaker or something
