Phill Sutton's??
Taken from beardy's thread, "WANTED - High Power FWD Cars............."
I'm not convinced and am curious to whether it actually is or not.
aaronw172 says he's seen the printout but 600bhp from a LET I'm finding hard to believe.... Can anyone shed any light on this?

Why don't you ask him rather than asking an un-imformed bunch of people?

Theres a 750bhp LET in a BMW.
You can get maximum BHP, but as i've said in another post, it'll be about 2000bhp worth of power at the top of the revs and totally un-usable.
Getting peak power aint the problem, its getting that power lower in the revs and maintaining that power to the top of the revs giving a nice spread of power.

Like this E34 turbo. Million BHP but just spins up.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lnfUi0djBA
I have another vid of it and it isn't catching up to this MX5 but i bet the E34's speedo is saying 200 mph coz it's just spin spin sugar.

I have a print out of 600bhp but until I run a 1/4 mile time that goes with the power Ive not said much. That power is with nitrous so there is no lag, it makes an nice linear graph.

When is it going to be ready for the 1/4?
Also will it be at PV

It was at PV last year, only ran on the sat an did 3 runs due to it running stupidly lean but still pulled a 12.5. Then sorted the fueling out an ran a 12.2 at TOTB before warping the flywheel.
Last time it was ran was at a rolling road day where it made 600 ( I did a few more alterations after TOTB again) and hasnt run since.
Will be up an running by next week again. 600bhp or not its still not running good times yet imo, I'll wait for it run a 10 second pass before I let my head enlarge lol

I saw it do that run, and impressive is an understatement. Also quite deafening standing next to a screamer pipe
JM_16v-Gaz'd is a full on drag car tho, no cage etc.

exactly my point, but it was making 450 -500 when ive done the 1/4 miles. Havent been happy with it running wise an thats why ive gone to fit after market stuff as the standard was spazing out.
On a plus side it has run a 127mph terminal but terminal speeds dont win races unfortuately.

Gaz'd has less power, less money in it, simpler set up and runs better times than me lol. They are getting 0.3 second better on the 60ft time than me as they can actually drive properly. High powered turbos arent easy to get off the line quick.

The car also weighs less.
Making launches quicker.
