Was out last night and my mate let me drive his 53plate 1.7CDTi Astravan and tbh i quite like them. Got a couple of insurance quotes and its coming up a little bit mroe expensive than mine at the moment, bareing in mind im paying £1500 on my mums policy, FC. And for the van they want £1900, own name, FC.
Was chatting to POW this morning and he said there impractical because of rear seats, but you can buy seats for them and they've already got the mounts in the van.
TBH i only want one because there different. Remap, colourcode, lowerer and alloys and jobs a good one.
Opinions please.

Unless you need a van for work purposes then no. I have found insurance prices for vans silly, I'm 19.

Someone that agrees.
Somebody mentioned that you can get about 40% power increase from a remap? True or false?
I'd also have one so i don't have to take 4/5 people about..

Get the same engine in a car if it's that you want. Walking down the street naked is different from the norm, doesn't mean to say it's the right thing to do!

Does it have to be a cdti? I had a mk4 astra with the 1.7td isuzu engine and that went well, would have been not too shabby remapped!

why buy an astra van and put seats in it?
why not just buy and estate, same looks, but windows and seats already there, and estates can look mighty cool
less estates done than vans

Are you really willing to pay £1900 p/a to insure anything let alone an Astra van? You're either rollin in it or need your head examining!

Yeah, im 18 in March. Im far from rolling in it but i liked the idea of being different and buying a van. Fair enough there not to many peoples tastes but from what i've seen theres not many diesels for sale that i like.
But like i said, if somebodys got an idea for a car, please share.
