did any of you go on that submarine trip? did you see the giant stingray?

i've been telling a bloke at work about it and he doesn't believe me so i need some pics to prove it. i had pics of it but when me and the ex split up she took all our albums.

i've searched on google but i cant find anything about it at all.

Playa Chica, Playa Grande is where it is usually spotted iirc.

I saw a few when I did some diving over there. Nothing i'd describe as giant though.

How do you define Giant anyway?

Some of the ones i've seen when diving in Lanzarote had a span of about a metre plus I reckon.

I also found an article whilst looking for that photo, about the first ever giant ray born in captivity in an aquarium in japan, it was 1.9m at birth, so im guessing they are EASILY over 2m

EDIT - Link just in case anyone else here speaks spanish and is interested

It's hard to tell how big stuff is through a mask and water.

I got followed by a couple of grouper when diving.....I thought they were quite big, but got told when we surfaced that one of them was 4 foot. Didn't look that bloody big.

Just read the whole article, apparently the giant rays can measure up to 6 metres in "wingspan"

all i know is i was gobsmacked when i saw it. one of the pilots came on the speaker and said that if you are sat on the port side you will see the famous giant ray. i was expecting something twice the size of a normal one but then i saw this huge fucker swimming past.
