Are they really worth the cash??? Local dealer has offer me a 08 plate for 16.5k full loaded bar full leather, then i decided to look on courtenays website and they do some lovely upgrades
1) 300bhp & 300 lbs
2) massive 6 pot brakes with 352mm disks
hoses etc
could spend up to 21k on a bloody astra lol
My question is 21k for an astra lol im not convienced 300 bhp in a front wheel drive car.

They are stuidly quick for a fwd car, but like you say ccan you justify spendin 21k on an astra, weigh up your options first mate as you may regret it.

If i was going to get another P1 i would get my old 1 back, but they are 8 years old now most of them abused its really hard finding a decent 1

Any sort of decently specced up s3 will be £30kish also robbo looked into it a while back.
Why not just buy something like 2 years old? Save yourself the massive loss of the forecourt but still pretty new.

its not lightweight?
Its £17k as far as i was aware?
Dry, yes, the cars are fine, TC is needed to be on though on the road or it spins up the lower gears.
Crappy boot space
No cup holders. Mofos.
Getting averages of 27mpg.
300bhp tuning is a stage 3 at least. Thats full exhaust system, remap, IC upgrade.
6 pots arn't needed, the 4 pot upgrade from VXR Center is fine.
You can spend £21k on an astra just speccing it up, Sat Nav, 19"s, exhaust system etc..
Putting 300bhp down in the wet though will be a task. Don't get Conti 3's (the "claimed" better and upgraded tyres from the Conti 2's that come standard) they are really really really bad.
I wouldn't buy another new Astra VXR, 2nd hand yes, but not a new one.

I haven't driven the VXR or either of these 2 but I would rather have the new megane sport of Golf GTi, not a fan of the new VXR's really.
Golf is the most 'classy' hot hatch out at the minute IMO

Funk me, your better off buying an Astra VXR and speccing it up yourself. I though the dealers were claiming it would actually be about £17k-£18k
Nurburgring is a blatent rip off media pun to blag a few more sales. Not worth it at all.
