it didn't shatter his hand, it would look like that if anyone hit it like that with a slow mo replay
Most of these sites put a description like that to big a video up

i watched that episode!
his hand didnt break at all.
It was something about the change of energy/power (as it cant be destroyed/made for nothing)
through the block as a wave causing it to brake.
something like that anyway - the hand turns jelly-like to help transmit the power.
