Sometimes you just have to do something outside of your comfort zone. I never anticipated moving abroad like this, but when there's nothing worth doing in England and you're offered something in another country, you have to take it.

Either that or you write off the 4 years at university and do something which leaves you completely unsatisfied for the rest of your life.

When you think about the bigger picture, emigrating isn't such a big step.

no not by any means its the way forward, i just mean at 23 t leave everything you know, to live on your own and all of a sudden have all that responsibility in a place where you dont know anyone to start off with and dont speak the language fluently (ashuming, not stating).

I take me hat off to you, i know i wouldnt have the balls to do it.

My grandmother was German, but never spoke it due to a lot of the stigma which came after WW2 when she moved to England - people in the street saying she'd murdered their family members etc. I learnt French and Russian at school, so came here knowing only a few words.

The amazing thing is the number of people who want to speak English to me, and who apologize for their language when it's actually excellent. It's been the attititude of the locals and co-workers here that have made it so much easier for me. Between them and the job (which I love), I haven't been left feeling alone or homesick.

That's not to say I don't miss things about home, and it's one reason I'm grateful to have CorsaSport, the world seems less daunting when you have a link to your home country like this.

yeah i can imagine, how do you get by in your job if you dont know much german, do they speak english to you the majority of the time? I see what your sayin though, its the same whenever you go on holiday, they all want to speak english, its a very neutral language, were just very stubborn as a nation and dont tend to learn many other languages.

I would miss alot if was in a diff country im ready to come home after 7 days on holiday in a different country. definatly hats off to you,

im off to bed now bud, but speak to ya online soon im sure! take it easy

The studio is multinational so English is a common language, guess its something to do with us owning 3/4 of the world at some point

Take care.

Honestly I don't know. I really do want to come back to the UK at some point, but I think I'll be here for a few years at least.

Been offered work in the UK and the US, so I have some options. I'd like to try California at some point.
