Hello all,

Have sorted some prices out for 4 pot brake kits, only thing is there is 2 options and thought it would be best to ask you all on what is prefered.

Both kits come with Dicsc, calipers, mounting brackets, bolts, brake pads, flexy hoses.

The 2 kits i have priced for a group buy are wilwood midilite 280mm for £525 including VAT and delivery. Second option is Hispec 285mm kit for £570 including VAT and delivery. These prices are based on 5 people wanting each kit.

These 2 kits are what i thought would be the most popular an will fit under most 15" wheels. Can also supply a smaller 256mm wilwood kit for 14" wheels. larger kits are availble if running 16" or 17". There is a variety of kits available.

So what do you all think then???

Just tried looking em up, can't find the Wilwoods, no metion of the midlites on the brake kits page

The Hi Specs I'm guessing are these ones: http://www.hispecbrake.co.uk/Conversions/Vauxhall/4%20Stud%20285%20B4.htm

They sound good, although I'm not sure about the EBC pads, a mate said his Greenstuff pads were pathetic and faded really easily. I don't think that kit comes with greenstuff but it doesn't actually say.

Have you got anymore details on em both?

All wilwood in the Uk is distributed through rallydesign which is why you wont find any vaux stuff on the wilwood site which is american.

Here is some info on the wilwood

"The new Midilite four piston radial mount is the first of a new generation of Wilwood aluminium calipers produced from a drop-forged billet. This forging process produces a body design that provides higher strength and reduced load deflection superior to any cast or machined block billet caliper, combined with substantial x-bolting and extended flank design it is one of the stiffest, radial mount calipers currently available."

"Most multi-piston calipers suffer from low speed caliper squeal caused by pad torsional vibration - The Midilite caliper features the unique Wilwood SRS (Squeal Reduction System) incorporating stainless steel pad retainers. These retainers eliminate the bridge wear caused by pad gouging and reduce the pad rattle/vibration harmonics which are the primary cause of the annoying '4-pot squeal'"

Disc size is 280x24mm.
This kits comes with wilwood brake pads which are suited to fast road and track day use.

Here is some info on the Hi-spec brakes,

Calipers can come in a choice of colours, Red, Silver, Gold, Blue. Kit includes brake fluid also.

mmm, think it'd have to be the Wilwood's, just not 100% about those EBC pads that come with the Hi Spec's, with what I've heard about the greenstuff pads.

Don't think I'll be able to afford em for a while too, or justify paying out for em

Will find out for you tomorrow, not sure if your kit will use the same caliper though so will check also, will need a different caliper bracket too if you reduce the disc size
