or would a engine swap be simple?

Why the need to change from a 1.2 8v to a 1.2 16v?
Shouldn't be any harder than other conversions, just a bit of a muck on for no real point IMO

As Ste said, dont bother. Waste of money to be fair and hardly much noticeable difference. you could save cash for a bigger engine conversion etc.
+ The 8v engines are ace- very reliable things!

just keep it looked after, does fine as a runaround
