when i bought my camera the lady in the shop said that i can change the lense on it, but my question is can i get one to add onto it ie a telephoto lense?
iv seen this kit but according to their site it isnt for the s6500
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=200201696987&Category=30070&_trksid=p3907.m29

but i would of thought aslong as i get the one for a 58mm lense then it would work?
may nip into the shop at the weekend and see if they have any 48mm lenses to test it.

cheers matt

Don't bother with these gimmicky add ons, they are not worth the money.

The S6500 already has a pretty good 10x zoom which I think is 28-280mm.

You can't buy seperate lenses for the S6500 as it's not an SLR but you can buy filters which can help.

I know what you mean, when I went from the S6500 to a Nikon D40 with a 105-400 lens the difference was massive.

The Fuji doesn't have image stability so anything over 300mm is going to be difficult to achieve.

Thats what you get with Digital zooms -= Optical Zooms are totally different.

Honest mate, put the money towards a new camera, the camera you have is great for general purpose but will limit you when you want to do something that the camera wont allow you to do.

You'll regret buying something cheap and useless, but 35 quid will buy you a circular polarizer and thats something you will never regret buying.

Increases colour saturation immensely. Reduces reflections and glare.

Filters are the most underestimated accessory for a camera.

Polarizers and ND Grad filters are a necessity, as are warm-up / cool down filters (although RAW shooting and editing reduces the need to use them so much now)

Like I say though - if you think you could move up to a DSLR - get one for that instead of for the S6500. Dont buy cheap brands either - if you can afford the SHMC polarizer - get them. Get the best you can afford all the time

Remember to get a 'Circular' polarizer not a 'Linear'

I think your camera (while in the upper tier of the point and shoot range) is still a point and shoot camera.

The dSLR will be the best thing you ever buy!
