forgot to say im here living with them the now as im trying to help my gran deal with him but im at a point where i need to get out for my own sanity as its been one hell of a weekend in the house!!!problem is shes worried hes gonna get violent and the rest of the family are telling her it wont happen yet his language and the way he speaks is getting really bad for example couple of days ago he refused to eat his dinner and went and got rich tea biscuits (does this a lot) so i said to him you need to eat your dinner as gran made it esp for you, then he started telling me il not tell him what to do in his own house so i said il do whatever my grans says and is she says iv to get you to eat your dinner i will!! at this the old bugger reached out and went to grab my balls with a right evil bastard look on his face!! i caught his hand just as he skiffed my trousers and he started trying to push me about! im not exactly a small fry so easily got the better of him but it made me wonder if he ever goes for my gran shes fucked!!!

i want out of here but im to worried to leave them alone

Sounds like he needs to be in a home if he's getting violent.

i was surprised at how much strength hes got in him cos hes tiny but if he wanted to he could easily overpower my gran as shes just a wee thing as well!

dunno what to do as i dont know if i should just keep quiet and see if he does anything else or tell somebody but i dont want him to do anything when im not there so i feel obligated to actually stay here longer and i really really need back to my own place, but at the same time he is still my grandad and i dont want him in a home

full respect to you for trying to help your grandma out. he's not gonna get better though so maybe a home is the best option.

my great grandma had dementia pretty bad before she finally died. she reported me to the police for stealing her money. find it funny now but i was a bit pissed off at the time. they knew it was bollocks but they still had to interview me. she told them that i spotted her putting money in a jar under her bed and then came back at night to rob it. apparently she saw me outside lurking in the shadows with a balaclava on. then i got a magnet out of my pocket and used it to pull the keys through the lock on the door and then opened it from the outside! she said that i stole exactly £53 because she knew there was £60 in there and now there is only £7. turns out my aunt found a receipt in her purse for £52.99. crazy old bitch!

Soon as they know he is getting violent (part of the illness) then he needs to go into a home.

hats off to you mate for trying.

As willy says, when violence comes, its time for the home .

It will be better for him and your grandma - your whole family infact

my gran had this.......i've been there through all stages.....it's not nice!

My gran started getting violent.......we though...putting her in a home would be better....worst thing we ever did.

Most of the staff new nothing about Dementia.....

We got her back home.....we looked after her for over a year at home after we got her out of the home.....

Seriously......comfort is one of the best things they will need......i say this because i know how it feels like....

Make sure you give your gran plenty of support mate.....dont back out now.....now is the time she will need you the most.
