just saw this in the local job center, its for working with kwik fit

the job title is fast fist apprentice

the pay is £5665 a year, how is that for an apprentice wage?

the apprenticeship (SP?) is for 2 years

this is what it says:

Must have a minimum 2 GCSE's at Grade D or above and a basic knowledge or interest in motor vehicles. this is a two year training programme leading to a nationally recognised qualification NVQ level 2 and a vehicle fitting fitting level 2 and a certificate in vehicle fitting and key skills. training covers a wide range of mechanical skills including tyres, exhausts, welding, lubrication, batteries, charging systems, wheel alignment, braking systems and suspension.

what do you guys think about this? is this a good start to get into the motor trade?

You know what NVQ stands for? Not Very Qualified

2 years at shit pay for a level 2 NVQ? jesus I'd just do a proper job earning proper money, then do training on the side at weekends/evening.

tbh, the stuff you would learn working in a kwik fit place is not much use in a 'real' garage.

Technically that's not true. You could earn more by not working.

The apprenticeships iv been looking at pay a minimum of £8000 and then £1550 for completing first year. It then goes up to £11000 and to £17000 on the third year. Then when fully qualified its around £23000

Brew only pays £80 a fortnight

Im an apprentice (senior apprentice ) I only get £330 a month, but get other allowances which bump that up, travel, scran ££, free supplied accomodation. Your never going to get paid much as a trainee. Id say go for it, its a job which is more than you have atm......sitting in your underclangers watching jeremy kyle gets boring after a while!!

Brew? It's £90 a fortnight and if you think bigger about it, you're also automatically entitled to all your council tax and rent paid for because you're on JSA. I make that a lot more than £80 a week. You couldn't even support yourself on that.

You might aswell apply for it, you might not even get picked. Just send off as many applications as possible.

Dont knock off college, I went to work straight from school, regretted not getting some qualifications so went back when I was 24, 1 year on im now an apprentice Tiffy
