Was out with a lass tonight and she got talking to me about her placement at a primary school (doing a teaching degree).

One of the stories i found a tad disturbing. One of the kids in her class was called Bailey, who also had a brother and sister called Cognac and Tia Maria

Its also worth pointing out that on fancy dress day, while all the other lads were coming in as their favourite superhero/army man he came as Cinderella

Does anyone else find this a bit weird or am i not moving with the times

I'm all for being unconventional but that crosses the line for me towards taking the piss out of your kids and putting them under undue stress and pressure. It's basically poking fun at them and it's the parents doing it which for me is a bit ghastly.

Thats what gets me Ian. I really feel for the lad becuase while teachers/parents stay PC about it and can't say much, kids will say what they like and while they may not understand it at 5/6 when they get older hes going to get the piss ripped out of him.

Now im not saying there anything wrong with been homosexual but come on, the lads 5 years old, he doesnt understand this stuff yet but is clearly been brought up a bit wierd by his parents. The fact they name their kids after alcohol does not fill me with confidence either

Its sad to see stuff like that Later on in life they'll undoubtbly turn to alcohol for their answers before consulting their parents, but then i suppose thats what brothers & sisters are for . . .
