Whether it sounds it or not this is a serious question and not a joke.
Why do people buy show cages?
Serious answeres please, i'm just curious as to what it achieves except some extra weight and possibly making it more difficult to get passengers in

It's just an accessory. People buy them because they look good. And because it looks good, they feel good.

I personally don't think it looks good.
It's functional in something you might roll at a significant speed but scaffolding in your car doesn't look particularly good.

So in answer to the question why do people buy showcages you've given this answer;
there is no inconvenience with passengers
less difficulty with insurers
a lot cheaper
That means fuck all to me tbh.

Thats the reason why you dont have one then.
I dont understand why people have to complain about stuff other people do to they're cars
Okay you don't like it, but why start a thread complaining about it?

I did not start a thread complaining.
It also wasn't supposed to be sarcastic even though I knew it would be taken that way, I just wanted to know.

Is it shit weather up in Dingwall or something? your being a narky cunt over nothing!
I think they're stupid as they don't provide further safety, they'll bump your insurance up and its a pain in the backside for passengers. Not to mention the fact you'll get laughed at off genuine car enthusiasts.
