A member on saxperience is offering this service for £40, you send him your throttle body, he carrys out the work same day and returns it next day delivery

Was wondering if this is worth doing? Its for a 1.6 16v vts btw and im planning further mods such as cams and a remap later in the year hopefully

Heres what he says is carried out

Thouroughly degreased
All casting Grooves have been removed
Casting deposites have been removed
any ridges have been smoothed into the throttle body
The spidle has been machined
Screw ends cut down
The opening rim has been knife edged
the body has been bored out further
and polished to a mirror finish resulting in a wider throttle body much faster air flow in to the inlet manifold

If these are the same as ebay ones then they are just stripped polished screws changes for counter sunck ones.

Its not worth it and no power gains

The standard throttle body isn't really restrictive tbh.

Don't bother unless it has a bigger plate.

I've got a vectra V6 plate here. That would do if he could machine the TB to fit it

He has said that its the same as gas flowing ahead, youy dont need bigger valves

wasnt expecting any bhp from it, but slightly better throttle response

Theres god feedback from people who have had theirs done, but then its maybe just in their head that its better as their looking for a difference

Still leaves the inlet manifold and all the pipe work before the throttle body restricted
