Hi, first post here. Hope u guys understand my poor english .

Well, i have a corsa b gsi turbo, forged pistons n rods, stock head, powerbox, intercooler... nothing special. It makes about 330hp at 7300rpm, boost 1,2bar on ethanol.
About 2000km after done it the engine just got stucked. The oil pump was the problem but days later we discovered that the crankshaft tip warped. A friend of mine (his car makes about 370hp) also had this problem but he lost the engine.
Already emailed sbd but no answers. Did you guys see something like it??

vid of my ride:

Is this a 1.6? Or a 2.0?

He said its a 1.6 running on ethanol, very interested in the spec of this!

I dont know of anyone in this country making such high power from the 1.6 but there are people on here who are in the know about engine who may be able to help you.

Any chance of more info on the car?

i had this problem with a brand new gsi years ago. it had 6000 miles on it but was at the time considered highly modified. basically what happened was the woodruff key which sits into a cut groove on the crank should sit in there snug and tight but somehow the cut groove in the crank on mine had been taking a beating from the added torque/power which made the cut in which the key goes into about twice the size it should have been. which caused it to run out of timing and in the end caused complete engine failure i put it down to a weak crank and havent heard of anybody else haveing the same problem so if thats what this guys talking about then ive had same experience! wasnt pleasant!

He said it's a GSI, could be any engine Luke

But, I agree, spec must be interesting. I think TigraTurbo from Mig has one running at silly power, but I don't think it's that high......

No pics... Well ill try to explain. Crankshaft tip => moves the oil pump (where goes the pulley...).
When it happened, bit of action the night before , I started the engine n it stroked a few degrees and crack. It stopped. So engine out and stuff. Then when assemblying it again, everything fine till time to put the new oil pump on place. The shaft won't go at all n with a kind of clock, that I dont know the name in english, we figured out that the shaft was warped a bit.

Well, my fear is this shit happening again. This engine is kind of exploration here (Brazil). The guy that made it, MatheusC20XE (he posts on migweb sometimes) has experience with 2.0's but mine here is the first 1.6 really hot. We just know the limits of some parts but this one is a mystery. I just dont wanna hear that i need a forged crankshaft too $$$$$

infos, of course! Some pics here: LINK
All infos in portuguese but ill try to explain a bit.

Forged pistons 81mm, stock 79mm. Compression rate at 9.0:1
Stock head
Turbo T3 525 a/r's .48/.42
High flow intercooler
Powerbox
inlet pipes in 2" on tighter places n 2 1/4" closer the tb.
Reprogrammed ecu, +- 70, 80lbs/h fuel injectors (maybe more, dont know this exactly)
Exhaust manifold by Matheus. But i think it has 1 3/8" runners.
Air conditioning and powersteering were removed

I see what you mean now. You won't need a forged crankshaft. Try to figure out what caused your oil pump to fail, and try again. Was there any other damage?

On a side note what mixture of ethanol are you running?

The first cylinder got some scratches(the lower ring did it) n the shaft too. Nothing nasty but looks like a piece of the oil pump made it.
The mixture is the common we got in gas stations, 92-94º gl plus water and some shit. Something like 96 plus water could be far better for big boost... Must see old VWs 8 valves sideflow running 2bars almost 3 on streets! Some crazy guys hehe... They make 2 or 3 runs, fuck the engine and still lose
