I went 24pence over my agreed over draft, theyve charged me 35pounds for going over this, and 28 pounds for having to pay the 24pence...
so in total £63 charge for going over by 24pence..
Ive rang them and theyve said its my fault which i agree with but surely they cant do this ?
ive found something that the office of fair trading say that a suitable charge would £12 anything over this is classed as unfair..
I can just see me ringing and hitting a brick wall so anyone know anything i can say to get this removed... or some of it.
Thanks.

I'm sure there's a website you can go to, and print off a form or something that will help you reclaim all of your bank charges. IIRC Ojc got more than a thousand back

all refunds are on hold whilst the court case about it is ongoing, been going on for ages.
most banks are charging a smaller fee like 12 quid now, so 63 seems very excessive

It happened once before, i managed to get one of the charges of 35 refunded cause they wanted to charge 35 for having to pay the bill and 28 for me going over my overdraft which are the same thing ... ? And she just agreed straight and refunded half of it, but im going for the whole thing this time !

Just go into the branch with a level head and explain the situation.
Hopefully a bank with any sense would waive the charge for going over by such a stupid amount. Perhaps ask about having the agreed overddaft extended a little?

Im wondering what would happen if you fucked them off, moved bank & had your wages paid into another account!
Think thats what id do, if they ask why they no longer have your business explain you cannot trust a bank that clearly cannot count & believes 0.00 - 0.24 = -63.00.

If its a one off thing then MOST banks will refund it all to keep your custom. If they wont then you're stuck with waiting until the court case is heard to see if you can claim it back.

I don't know why people complain about this unless some company has taken money out when they shouldn't have.
Otherwise just don't go overdrawn

I wouldn't be happy but it would have been my fault so i'd have nobody to blame but myself.
I'd not let my balance get that bad that i'd go overdrawn if i put 24p too much petrol in though.

See, all you have to do is ask.
Now cancel all your direct debits and move them to a different account, along with your wages.....all for the inconvenience of having to make the phone call.
