My mate has a PC that was on Win98 - he just put in a good Win2000 CD to boot up coz he doesnt have XP or owt - when he puts the disc in though it comes up with 'Drive Not Ready'
He knows the drive works coz he's installed some other bits off disc.
Any ideas?

Some drives have problems reading particular CDs i've found.
Try copying the CD to another CD.
