jsut got 2 brand new tyres fitted at kwik shit.. i mean kwik fit..
and now when i go over about 60 the steering wheel vibrates like mad. It was fine before and i took the wheels off the car so all they did was just change the tyres..
had a look at the balancing and the weights go 1/2 way round the wheel on both wheels! not sure that its right..
also tyre pressure was set at wait for it.... wait.... 45PSI! should be 26... i didnt tell them mind so i aint too fussed..
they also chipped the paint off the wheels, i thought about calling them and askin them where i send the invoice to get them re powdercoated.

I've never had weights for wheels balancing go all of the way around a wheel.

There should only be 1 or 2, 3 TOPS of knock on weights on a wheel abd even then they should all be next to each other. With stick on weights its not so bad.
But if you start putting weights on one side, then some on the other side, it fucks up the balancing and just puts it back where you started.

Theres over 100grams of weight on that wheel
90% of wheels i do only need about 20-30grams to balance, unless its buckled or bent.
Thats taking the piss

i know!
maybe just maybe when i hit that pothole it may of cause it to buckle the wheel.. but i have never seen that many weights on any wheel!

Is that the wheel you hit the pothole with?
Best bet is to take it to someone you know, rip them weights of and tell him to put it on the balancer, if it does come up with more than 50-60grams on one side we usually advise people to get a new wheel.
With a balancer, if finds the point on th wheel which needs more wight, so you put weights on that spot, usually an inch or 2 wide, to balance the wheel. When you start putting rows of weights down, it will balance out the bit which is needed but then all the other weights are useless and make the drive quality hurendous and shakes like fook.
IMO i'd be going sick it somebody did that to my alloy

Is the wheel painted of powdercoated, if its painted the finish is always going to be delicate so it would probably be hard work to leave all the paint there even if you are being careful.
The weights seem ridiculous though, the wheel would have to be mega buckled but if thats what the machine asked for then theres not much the fitter can do with it.

wheels look painted to me, the best they can do is they put i ring around the lip but that can still cause the paint to chip is happened on my wheels.

its impossible to cock balancing a wheel up the machine tells you how much it needs and where to put it if it seems alot the actuall person needs to think hold on that ain't right lol its common sense really lol

That whell hasnt been balanced proper Weights never go all the way round like that.
As for the chip, You should have checked the wheels before you payed the bill to make sure you were happy, they will just worm there way out off it since you didnt inform them right away.

my dad picked them up and he knowing fuck all payed and brought them home, soon as i saw em i just said for fucks sake!
called them up, told them, they seemed slightly concerned about it and i got a phonecall back at 7pm! bit shocked actually that they called me back anyway i wasnt in so they will call tomorrow..
if they dont want to sort the wheels i will mention that impropper balancing of the wheel caused massize shakes on the wheels and was very dangerous!
they will crap themselves
