Is £500 too little to accept for it? I get to keep the car. (Selling next week to a local lad for £600 as it stands)

You had it up for £1400 before the accident - would you of accepted an offer of £1100?
If you would then take the £500 and sell to this lad for £600, if not then try and push for more.

£2400 You could get the lot already colour coded from a scrapper for a couple of hundred.

If its CAT B I was under the impression it can't be put back on the road and has to be broken for parts by a licensed body?

you cant drive a category A or B on the road though can you?
i though you could only repair cat C and D's

category a means no parts can be used and car must be crushed.
category b means some parts can be reused.
category c +d means it can be repaired and put back on road.
onlt category c requires a vic check.

Go back to them Alex, complain about the fact you have many parts listed that don't need replacing, and tell them how much you paid for it, or find some similar cars for sale so you can compare prices.
Also query why they believe it is a Cat B - is it purely because of the cost of the damage, or do they think there is underlying damage?

Cat D maybe never a Cat B.
You could put it back on the road for £200 tops!
