whats the biggest cams you can put in the x14xe engine without pocketed pisstons are 288's to big?

288s are too much yes.
But it depends on lift too.
Usually around 266 is the max.

You can fit 276s, if they dont have much lift.

What other mods do you have/intend to have?

There's no point in going for a wild cam (like the 288s, if you could fit them in with standard pistons) if you're using the standard injection system.

goin for inlet mainfold zort mainfold remap decat full system port and polished head and maybe throlle bodies at a later date

just asking as there is a lad selling some on here and he says there 288's newman and that he didnt have pocket the pisstons just don't wanna buy them and there no good thanks for the helps tho guys

No Newman 288s woint run on std injection or pistons

I belive DaveA from v sport can make a custom set of 288s that do not need pocketed pistons, might be worth a u2u

yes, thats right. 288's will fit with standard pistons but you need to be carefull with the cam timing. I sell a similar camshaft to the 288 newman profile that can work with standard ecu and pistons although a remap will be needed.

any changes to cam profile will need a remap to make the most of them.

so is it just the standard ecu that just gets a tinker or have you got to have a different one put in?

either way but nothing comes close to proper aftermarket management
