done a 3 step 2 weeks ago, Megs paint cleaner, AG SRP, Colinite 476

Looked great, anyway washed it yesturday and though it clean the finish is nowhere near what it was.

Why, is it the shampoo i use though i have tried different ones, and they seem the same, does it need waxing again, though i thought you only did this every few months, or is it just normal.

Could be product quality. I have never used any other the above (exept SRP). Put it this way, my car has been prepared for swissvax saphir, using cleaner fluid. I wash the car twice a week with swissvax car bath and it comes up beautifully EVERY time. I can even get away without waxing for 3-4 months.

As a rule, waxing can be done once every month. Try and different shampoo and wax and see how that goes!

It could well be that. YOu do get what you pay for when its comes to this. Have a look at www.cleanyourcar.co.uk for ideas of better quality products.

From experience neither the carplan or simoniz shampoos are that good, but i'd say the simoniz is probably worse of the 2. Try a different shampoo and see how it goes.

Its all in the prep work should last though as you are using collenite.

I collenite mine once every 6 months and even then its slick as you like and all I have to do each fortnight is wash is with shampoo rinse and dry. If i got time may use some Klearcoate detailer but thats about it always come up clean.

I would ditch the megs stuff personally

The car was not that dirty tbh, its only been two weeks since i done the 3 step.

I chuck a bucket of water over the car first, then using
two bucket method
a morrissons noodle mitt, cleaned after every use
simoniz wash and wax shampoo

I wash car, trying not to allow the water to dry too much, then,

using another morrisons noodle and clean warm water, no shampoo, i go over the car again.

then to finish i go over the car with clean water in a squirty bottle and dry with a cloth as i go, i use microfibre cloths to dry, sometimes i use a megs plush terry towel to dry as they seem to soak up alot. though i think these are for removing wax or polish.

anything wrong with this methos then, dont get me wrong the car is clean but not like what it was after i done the 3 step.

should i collinite after every wash or just try a different shampoo, thing is i like to just get a shampoo off the shelf and not have to order things

Looking at what you've put their mate I'd invest in a decent shampoo, a good waffle weave drying towell and some Megs Last Touch.

Is there any reason why you go over the car with a second mitt and no shampoo? You are probably just dragging shit over your paint.
