if it's in a corsa you'll struggle.i couldn't get mine off without taking the head off first.

yes it is mate, and im struggling like fook. just no room to do anything. dont want to take head off as cant be assed to replace headgasket

i tried to do it and leave the head on but it was too close to the bulk head to get it off the stud's on the head.never thought to do this before but if you can get the stud's out at the same time as the nut's(the ones that bolt the manifold to the head) you might be able to slide it up and out.
you could try putting another nut on the the stud(while the one holding the maifold is still on)and then undoing the nut closest the inlet.if you get what i mean so the second nut will stop the 1st nut turning on it's own and bring the stud out complete.just an idea.

just drop the engine onto the floor, and lean it forward's, be alot easier, give you more room

timing belt off,inlet manifold bolts out,2 coolant pipes,rocker cover off,3 breather pipes,exhaust manifold off,cts+temp sensor plug's off and two small bolts holding the timing cover back plate to the head then undo the head bolts.i can do it in half an hour.
why do you want to take the inlet off anyway?

well i have cleaned up the throttlebody, fuel rail and few other bits. want that looking nicer

for the amount of hassle involved,i would leave it until it really need's to come off.

yeh i think ur right, will get some gunk and clean it while its on the car
