Just taken my plug leads off from the engine (x16xe) and where the plugs are, there is a puddle of oil in each four of the holes

This cannot be right can it?

The plugs on the end of the leads were also wet with oil.

Is this possible due to loose spark plugs???

Doubt it, more likely to be a leaky rocker cover gasket.

will be the o rings that you get with a rocker cover gasket set
