my engine giv up on me last nite but my m8 said i can have his old 1 but im not sure if it will work
mine is a
1.2 8v with a coil and lectric speedo
his is a
1.4 8v with a dizzy cable speedo
wat will i need to change to put this in my car hav the full engine bay as its still in the car

it would fit mate but not being funny why go through all the hassle or changing engine and not put something worth while in whilst your there?

thats totaly true but carnt afford to get sumthing decent at the mo and need to have the car on road so its just for the time bein wont take long to change it just acase of how witht eh speedo and that or shall i just put my gear box on it

power wise those engines are about the same.
not worth it at all mate.

It should be nearly a straight swap but you may need to swap some of the wiring loom over.

theres 15 bhp difference. my engine is on its last legs and i've got a 1.4 sittin in the garage but no loom but have the ecu. anyone with any info that could help would be great

well its not an sri but i kno of one that i could pick up easily. would it be a pretty straight forward swap?

the sri 8v will use same exhaust same coolant pipes etc, you'll need engine/box, mpi fuel pump, fuel line ends, ecu and loom, thats about it. not that hard of a conversion.
