So basicly he has rigid suspension as he doesn't even have any bump stops.

Actually, he's effectively removed the spring as it's only there for show. Didn't he stop and think what he was doing when putting it back together?

I doubt it's working though. A person who does that to a cars suspension is in no position to make a mechanical judgement on whether or not a Biro is working, let alone a car's chassis.

I know proper mechanics that have bodged things worse, like using carboard and paint to fix a chasis rail and it even passed an mot

I noticed he's from Bridgend. Perhaps this is the new way of killing yourself, hanging yourself in the woods is so last month.

We had a car in recently with something similar, it was a corsa B with a c20xe in with some cheapo -60mm front springs, front end was so heavy (due to the engine weight and all of the filler holding the ugly front bumper together) that the front springs were comletely coilbound (all coils sitting on top of each other) so the owners fantastic solution was:
new springs?
new dampers to suit?
no, the coils of the springs were spaced out with blocks of wood

That's an amazing solution. I wonder why car companys like Audi spend so much money of air suspension solutions for thier really heavy cars...
