hello i have an early dipac redtop in my corsa. if i bought a chipped ecu, would i achieve anything? also is it just a case of plugin the new ecu in, and away to go

it's either a dissy engine(early xe)
or dispac (late xe)

i wouldn't go slapping ecu's not ready or set up for your car.....

how wood i go about getting the correct chip for my car? and how much is it likely to set me back ?

get an ecu, and completly remap it 
not alot..price wise will go on what your wanting done..

so the best thing to do is take my car to a rollong road and hav it remaped there?

A remap should really only been done once you have changed something on the car..
Remapping the standard car is bad because it's set to run the way it does for a reason!
if you uprate anything, your engine isn't aware of the change, so your then telling the ECU about the changes and how to react to them.
Get a true testing of your car, then see what's the best performance you can get from it without it blowing up.

ah rite, well atm my car is bein fully rebuilt with overbore, and i should be avin an sbd manifold pretty soon, so i wont bother havin a chip or remap soon. ill wait longer until i have done more to the engine..cheers kev
