Are 1.6 discs the same as 2.0l 16v ones?

both are 256mm but 1.6 are 20mm thick wheras 2.0 are 24mm thick iirc

so 2l ones are slighty better then yer?Its that i have 2l 16v calipers/carriers etc but cant afford 2l discs and pads at the min but i got brand new geuine 1.6 16v discs and pads for free so could i use the bits together?And would they be any good?

cant use bits together unfortunately, just flog your 1.6 disks, 2.0 are gonna cost the earth, no more than £20 from your local halfords for standard jobbies

Ah bugga.
I priced some 2.0 ones from vauxhall and they were £151.
Looks like ill have to dig deep in the pocket and just buy some then.

Halfords definitely are a lot cheaper! But saying that, i have the Trade Card, so they definitely will be...

well i have a trade car aswell so ill just give them a try.Are they still good quality though?

get them nice and cheap at halfords. Dont think it will be more than £20 a side.

*Please not that I am not recommending this, far from it, merely answering the question!*

You could check what the centre line of orientation of each disc is, if that matches, the the diameter isn't an issue, you also need to check the tolerances of each calliper but as a fresh ATE pad has more than 2mm wear in it then that shouldn't be an issue. The problem is that they are single pot so any measurement taken would need to be with fresh parts and in summary it would probably cost more to find the answers than it would to buy the relevant stuff.

I paid about £11 for pads and £38 for discs last time I bought the Astra valver brakes if that helps any? That was from my local friendly Speedy Parts guy.
