Sorry too post in here but could do with knowing this asap.

Are these heads the same, as can i put a x16xe head on a c16xe bottom end, vice versa?

The heads do differ slightly, but you can interchange them

yea the c16 head has better flow...and is the better one! Plus...no Ecotec!

Excatly what I did. I had the X16XE with the a fully gasflowed C16XE head, didn't half make a difference.

they have a better flow and bigger ports you see.
