Michael Vaughan has long been overdue replacement as captain and currently flagging as a top end batsman. IMO He's never been THAT effective as captain when compared to some of the world's greatest at current (I hate to mention Ponting!).
I can see him resigning this role at the end of the the 08 touring season. Ideally to concentrate on being a more effective batsman (I'd like to see him move down the order a bit) but I can see him leaving the squad altogether perhaps going into the coaching side of things.

No I disagree there, hes a fantastic captain... he has his off days true but as a captain you cant really complain, his biggest problem is hes just not very good as a batsmen... ive said for a while they shoudl stick him further down the order

IMO he WAS a fantastic Captain. But he has been slipping of late, and is still riding the wave of success from winning The Ashes.
Deffo needs to bat lower though. He's fucking useless at number 3.
