like the standard panel filters. just wash them out and let them dry? would it have any major effects if you put it back in slightly damp?

More chance of dirt sticking to it, if the filter was still damp?

wash out let it dry and give a mist of piperx oil a MIST not what some people do and coat it in the stuff then wonder why there AFM gets fucked lol

To be fair to K&N, i sell loads of air flow meters for new and old vauxhalls and im sure 99% are using the stock paper air filters.
