i just wondered if anyone could hazzard a guess at where im going wrong... i brought some ta technik coilovers off ebay and came to fit them today but had nothing but trouble. i cant seem to fit them properly without them rubbing against my tyre! tried raising the springs, lowering the springs, adjusted the camber as far as we could, weve basically had them set up in 3 different ways to try an avoid touching the tyre but no luck.
is there something im not doing right? never had coilovers before and didnt come with any notes or instructions but followed the write up in the max power manual. or reckon theyve set the wrong ones? fit and line up fine its just the adjusters and springs are touching the tyre

what make are they?
there are some that are like that
maybe u'l need wheel spacers

they're ta techniks from ebay. only went for them after id read people on here had got them and were happy with them so dont understand why im having trouble.
id thought about wheel spacers but then will need to mod the arches if im gona have it low. ive got cav gsi alloys on it by the way

i had this problem with mine but mine were spax rsx i put 5mm spacers on mine and it sorted it

i fitted these on my gf car and imo there are pure toss to ahrd and bottom out on every bump but in answer to your question one of the bolt holes is the camber so you need to tighten the other then pull the whole leg outwards bolt it up then get tracking done
you will always need tracking done when lowering on coilovers my gf didexactlythe same until i got the tracking sorted then it was fine but just a shit ride due to them being shit
i have spax rsx kit on mine and there far better and is worth spending good money on suspension instead of ebay tack

Have a look in FAQ, there is a tutorial which tells you exactly how to solve this problem without spacers.

Just use a 3mm spacer ?
You are ment to use them for the spax dampers, but I have never had any trouble.
If you are using a high off set wheel you should be able to get away with a spacer

just depends how low and what camber the wheels are at, my spax rsx rubbed on my mos so i fitted 3mm spaces, but between the camber and the height them were stil rubbing, so iv just fitted 5mm spacers and longer wheel nuts, problem sorted

i went out and got some 5mm spacers yesterday and still rubbing i think, thought it had cleared so test drove it around my street and the steering was snatching from my hands when i turned the wheel. so think i need lower profiles to be honest, another lad on here had the same problem with cav wheels and lower profiles sorted it although he reckons he might still need spacers if he went lower than 80mm.
tyres would need changing soon anyway. cheers for all your replys ill let you know when somethings sorted

what tyres are you running? Should be on 194/45s on cav gsi rims ideally

changed the suspension cos it was old nova stuff and camber was quite bad, bit older pic that shows it!

50s might be what is killing it tbh.
I've got 194/45s on mine and they're quite close to the adjuster on the coilovers.
PS> Rims look fecking ace in white. I'm definately painting mine yellow now

definately lower profiles needed then. and cheers mate, was unsure about them when i first sprayed them but quite like them now. and yellow, brave but i like the thought of it, black car?

Loosent the bolts where it fixes to the hub and you can pull the hub a few mm to clear the suspension.

Fit some shorter springs so the spring platforms sit above the tyre.
