Need to sort the fuelling out, 5th injector or proper mapping.
Lower the compression, low comp pistons or 32 headgaskets (bodge)
Oil feed for the turbo, drill and tap in the block somewhere.
Mount the manifold and the turbo, make up a downpipe and mate it to the system.
Work out boost pipes and the fit them.
Oh yeah, easier if you have an aftermarket inlet too.
I think thats the main stuff......

Oh dear....someone aint done their homework.........
Depends how you do the fuelling. Obviously the standard map only works with negative pressure (vacum). With a turbo this makes it positive pressure when it tries to push the air in the engine (on boost). So the standard mapping will work until it's on boost (positive pressure) then it wont know what the fook to do and the engine will run lean, melted pistons here we come. Best way is to get aftermarket management and get it mapped to run on and off boost properly.
Some people use a fifth injector set up (not too sure on the ins and outs) but this will put more fuel into the engine when its on boost to even out the air/fuel mixture. This is basically another injector which opens when the car is on boost....pretty sure thats an accurate description but i didn't really look into that option.
You can't run a turbo on standard compression rate. So you need to lower it. Proper way is changed the postons for low compression ones. This will take the rate from around 11:1 to 8 or 9:1 i think, can't remember properly. Or, use 3 headgaskets or a spacer plate which does the same job as it raises the head and makes more space = lower compression rate.
It's not a case of bolt it on and start it up. I looked at doing my X16 properly, got the costs together and fucked it off as it was out of my budget....around 3.5K
But if you've got the budget do it properly. MigWeb is a wealth of turbo knowledge!

If you read the thread I posted theres a good list that robin did and quick guestimates on prices. It WILL cost mega money. But the advantage is your getting some parts cheaper.
Fitting a LET and a years insurance is about the same cost and made to be a turbo

You can fit the Dbilas kit which is bolt on and works on standard compression
On the German forum I never read about a blown engine, meaning X14XE,X18XE and X18XE.
If you don't buy their exhaust expect to pay some 3K or a bit less.
