has anyone else ever wondered what we will class as classics in say 10-15 years..

think about our fathers.. the majority will class capris' escort mexico's, fiesta supersports etc as classics as thats what was about back then and what they all owned..

are we all gonna class corsa's as a classic in say a few years?

I hate how old cars become "Classics" when the fact is they are just old. Would you say an Austin Princess is a classic, would you say a Ford Cortina 1.6 is a classic? NO. Fair enough RS1600's, Mexicos etc I would give classic status as they are so sought after. But a genuine "Classic" would be something ike an Aston Martin DB5 a Mercedes Gullwing etc.

The new Mini looks dated because it was designed to be a fashion accessory. They are common as muck too now. They will never be a classic like the originals.

also the original mini caused a stir because of its compact design and FWD chassis and amazing roadholding. Which was unheard of then.

The new mini is just another small ( o: ) car.
