Repost in Help Zone.

Spell things correctly.

Tell me if you can replicate it while the car is stationary or whether you need to be driving.

If it does it when you're just revving it up then it's not clocks, gearbox or anything else transmission related.

What engine? I know the early C16XE had an issue with noise on the inlet manifold but that's a design feature of the plastic inlet and you won't generally cure it.

Edit - so not C16XE then.

Can you describe the noise in sound and volume. How loud compared to revs?

Proportional to revs or just happens at that speed?

Cam belt tensioners?

If it wants the belt anyway then do that and the water pump, even if it doesn't cure it, it's probably wise on an engine with that mileage if you're unsure when it was last done.

when my water pump went (c16xe) it was more of a constant tap than a rattle, but if your doing a cambelt anyway you might aswell do the water pump
